Moooi opens a new showroom in Stockholm

PROJECT TYPE: SHOWROOM SCOPE: DESIGN LOCATION: STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN

After taking the design world by storm in London, Amsterdam, New York and Tokyo, Moooi has travelled northward and arrived in Stockholm. On October 20th, 2017, the doors to the Moooi Stockholm Showroom officially opened. From its prime location in the heart of the Scandinavian design capital, right on the picturesque banks of the Riddarfjärden, Moooi is well-placed to come closer and become even more familiar with the Swedish design world. The new showroom will serve as a useful, inspirational tool for architects and designers in Scandinavia, an important market for Moooi. In 2006, Moooi’s history of creative collaboration with Sweden started with an outstanding partnership with Front. It has since collaborated with Jonas Forsman and recently presented a new novelty with Luca Nichetto. The new showroom in Stockholm could very well open the doors to other exciting and extraordinary collaboration opportunities in the future. With this move, Moooi hopes to bring its celebration of ‘A Life Extraordinary’ to Scandinavia. Moooi Stockholm is ready to connect and inspire everyone in the design world with its novelties in furniture, lighting, accessories and Moooi Carpets.

Angles & Facts Did you know that...? Scandinavian designers have already played an important part in building the Moooi collection? The design company has collaborated with Front, Jonas Forsman and Luca Nichetto. A (show)room with a view Admire the inspiration and beauty inside but also take a moment to appreciate its stunning views across the water outside. The Moooi Stockholm is located on the picturesque banks of the Riddarfjärden. 3 levels of charm The Stockholm showroom has no less than 3 levels and 150 square metres of space. This means there’s more than enough room for many different sets and product combinations to amaze and inspire visitors. Extraordinary Scandinavia Scandinavia has long been one of the most inspiring places in the design world. The influences of their design trends are felt in every corner of the globe, and with this move, Moooi is coming closer to the action. It’s ready to put its own unique stamp on the market! Scandinavian design trends have a big impact on the ideas of many of the designers working together with Moooi. Moooi has in fact already collaborated with Scandinavian designers in the past. Front, the Swedish design group, created the Animal series, featuring the iconic Horse Lamp, in addition to the Blow Away Vase and the Chess Table. Jonas Forsman, native to the Swedish Småland region (famous for its furniture production), designed the Shift Chair series, which exudes modern luxury. And Luca Nichetto, originally Italian but based in Stockholm, is currently working together with Moooi to produce the Canal Chair, which was presented at the Salone del Mobile in Milan in April 2017. This new showroom location will allow Moooi to come closer and become even more familiar with the Swedish design world, which may open the doors to other extraordinary collaborations in the future. Celebrating 'A Life Extraordinary' The new showroom will serve as a hub of inspiration, creativity and great design. Its layout and interior design will be updated periodically to feature the latest product releases and refreshed to offer new takes on how to decorate different rooms in homes, offices and public spaces. The creative settings reveal in an instant how Moooi’s different products can be combined to complement each other.

The diversity of products, styles and designers prove that Moooi is not only about ground-breaking lighting products but also about exceptional furniture, creative Moooi Carpets collections and a whole lifestyle experience based on the belief that design is a question of love. Moooi presents creative luxury for a well curated life: innovative, provocative and poetic at the same time. A Life Extraordinary! The spotlight shines brightly on Moooi’s current novelties. The Perch Light family greets first time visitors with their playful, shimmering dance, while the Coppélia chandelier twirls in the background, echoing in all things the ballet that inspired it. A weary traveller can relax on the impressive and regal Charleston Sofa, which poses the question, “Am I a sofa or a throne?” For those looking for a cosy, tender embrace, the Boutique Botero might be just the ticket, while you can drop your worries on the Woody side table, a friendly companion fashioned after the image of a timid deer. Visitors who want to get ahead of the curve can rock comfortably on the O., the brand new rocking chair, as a special sneak peek of this unreleased beauty is present as well. The finishing touches to the many creative sets come from the new carpet collection by Neal Peterson for Moooi Carpets, whose vivid colours and plush softness make you feel comfy and right at home.

Located on the picturesque banks of the Riddarfjärden, a stone’s throw from Stockholm’s Central Station, Moooi Stockholm is ready to greet its customers and provide statement pieces for all kinds of interior design projects. With no less than 3 levels and 150 square metres, Moooi Stockholm has plenty of space to amaze and inspire its visitors. The showroom is open by appointment only – contact stockholm@moooi.com to schedule your visit.
