The surprising contrast between the Milan Central Station tunnels, Magazzini Raccordati, and the enthralling installations, worked its magic once again at the second edition of Ventura Centrale. Over 55.000 visitors visited these grand and inspiring spaces. They discovered wooden giants, illuminated origami lamps, colourful tape, and were even confronted with the audible potential of glass.
Faced with a whirlwind of positivity both during the Milan design week and after, Ventura Centrale demonstrated yet again its metamorphic character to the design loving crowds. While reinforcing its relevance in light of the neighbourhood and city of Milan, the second edition showed once more that with vision, creativity, commitment and a long breath the full potential of forgotten locations in the city can and will be uncovered!
Being located in underneath Milan's Central Station, Ventura Centrale has the magic of a busy environment, combined with the ambience of a place of abandoned beauty. Through these former laboratories, studios and depots our exhibitors have let the Milan design community truly experience their work. We are very proud to have collaborated with Centrale District, FAS (Gruppo Ferrante Aporti Sammartini), Milano Municipality | Municipio 2 and Cramum this year and would also like to thank GS retail for their continuous support!
Above all, we'd like to thank our 10 exhibitors for making this second edition a reality: Stephan Hürlemann with horgenglarus, Surface with David Rockwell and 2x4, Editamateria with Antonio Aricò, Nitto, Baars & Bloemhoff, AGC Asahi Glass, Fabrica with Pierre Frey, Franco Mazzucchelli, Denis Guidone, and EILEEN FISHER presents Design-Work, curated by Lidewij Edelkoort.
